Patch to fix the FTBFS

This FTBFS is caused by GCC-6.0 raising errors on narrowing problems.

The patch (against fedora git master) in the attachment addresses these by a one-liner patch, inspired by the approach upstream has taken in a much newer version.

Unless somebody objects, I will apply this patch in near future.

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 24 development cycle.
Changing version to '24'.
