Description James Bunke 2016-03-04 01:58:38 UTC
Description of problem:
I recently loaded an HP NC6400 Compac Laptop with a built-in Authentec AES2501(B?) fingerprint scanner. I went to "Settings -> Users -> (username)" and enabled fingerprint authentication, enrolled my fingerprint, and acquired the "(or swipe finger)" displayed beneath the "Password:" and entry box, however that is all -- behaves as if no finger swipes occur and requires password logon.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible: Happens each time even after deleting and re-enrolling the fingerprint.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use a built-in USB fingerprint scanner.
2. Enroll a user's fingerprint in the dataset (/var/lib/fprint/(username).
3. Attempt to logon as user (username).

Actual results: Option "(or swipe finger)" message displayed, but finger swipe(s) ignored.

Expected results: Similar to actual results, but responding to finger swipes with a logon for the correct finger swipe, a error/reject message for the incorrect finger swipe, or acknowledge each swipe and, if flawed in some manor, request another swipe.
