Description Joachim Frieben 2016-03-11 20:51:28 UTC
Description of problem:
After a fresh network install using the Fedora-Workstation-boot-x86_64-24-20160311.n.0 image, a number of additional i686 packages have been installed:

- nss-softokn-freebl-3.23.0-0.1.fc24.i686
- xorg-x11-drv-geode-2.11.18-1.fc24.i686
- glibc-2.23.1-5.fc24.i686

but -no- i686 kernel packages as reported in bug 1313957 which (was) a different issue.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
anaconda-24.13-1.fc24

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Perform network install of current Fedora Workstation 24 x86_64.

Actual results:
For some packages both x86_64 and i686 flavours are being installed.

Expected results:
Only x86_64 packages are being installed.

Additional info:
Also the Fedora-Workstation-Live-x86_64-24-20160311.n.0 live image ships the i686 packages listed above.

Please attach the logs from the installation to this bug as individual, text/plain attachments. They are available in /tmp in the installation environment and copied to /var/log/anaconda on the installed system.

Comment 13 David Shea 2016-03-11 23:41:41 UTC
xorg-x11-drv-geode is listed as a mandatory package in @base-x in comps, but the only version in the repo at https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/development/24/Workstation/x86_64/os/ is i686.

Comment 14 Joachim Frieben 2016-03-12 01:41:33 UTC
(In reply to David Shea from comment #13)
For obvious reasons it does not make sense to ship an x86_64 version of xorg-x11-drv-geode; therefore, it should not be present in the x86_64 tree of Fedora 24 at all like it is also absent from the x86_64 tree of Fedora 23.
