Description of problem:
I'm unable to repeat a character using N => shift+i => character => esc. 

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
3.14.8

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Kate
2. Enable vi mode
3. Try the "repeat character" vi shortcut.

Actual results:
Only the first character is created.

Expected results:
Create N identical characters.

Additional info:
This works on older version of Kate, so it has definitely been implemented. 
I tried enabling VI override of Kate shortcuts, but that didn't do it.

We are not going to fix this issue at this point of RHEL 7 phase. This is not a critical issue.
