I want to create tar.gz filesystem with following command:

[root@ti3 ~]# livemedia-creator --make-tar --compression gzip --iso=/tmp/boot8.iso --ks=/root/x/kickstart-ti.ks --live-rootfs-size 8 --no-virt 
2016-03-18 10:14:56,466: disk_size = 7GB
2016-03-18 10:14:56,466: disk_img = /var/tmp/root.tar.xz
Starting installer, one moment...

The message in stdout is saying "/var/tmp/root.tar.xz". In the end of process I got /var/tmp/root.tar.gz as expected, but I burned a lot of time to make sure about it.

Sorry about that.

Also note that --no-virt doesn't use the --iso parameter and --live-rootfs-size is only used with --make-pxe-live
