Description of problem:
Current sssd container supports joining to IPA using ipa-client or Active Directory using "realm", 

There is no support for running authconfig manually to authenticate to an existing LDAP / kerberos servers.

authconfig  --ldapserver=dhcp201-158.englab.pnq.redhat.com  --ldapbasedn=dc=englab,dc=pnq,dc=redhat,dc=com  --enableldaptls  --enablemkhomedir --enablesssd --enablesssdauth --update --updateall

The devel phase has passed so RFE should be moved to the next release.

Authconfig is deprecated. There are no plans to do anything about this and provide other means of joining SSSD container other than what realmd allows.
