every app that should be shown needs appstream data for gnome software. See a blogpost for rpmfusion and fedora: http://ankursinha.in/blog/2015/05/28/appstream-data-for-rpmfusion-now-available.html Further to that, the upstream application (or in the srpm) needs to ship an AppData file[1] which the appstream-builder tool can process into AppStream metadata. Without the extra data there's no way for the software center to know that a package is an application, and no way to show extra details like a translated long description and screenshot.
