Description of problem: I plugged my iPhone 5 into the computer and I was getting these selinux denials. The custom policy I had to eventually load was: # cat myusb.te module myusb 1.1; require { type usbmuxd_t; type udev_var_run_t; class file { read getattr open }; } #============= usbmuxd_t ============== allow usbmuxd_t udev_var_run_t:file getattr; #!!!! This avc is allowed in the current policy allow usbmuxd_t udev_var_run_t:file { read open }; Perhaps this is missing policy from the usbmuxd package? SELinux is preventing usbmuxd from 'getattr' accesses on the file /run/udev/data/+usb:2-1:1.0. ***** Plugin catchall (100. confidence) suggests ************************** If you believe that usbmuxd should be allowed getattr access on the +usb:2-1:1.0 file by default. Then you should report this as a bug. You can generate a local policy module to allow this access. Do allow this access for now by executing: # grep usbmuxd /var/log/audit/audit.log | audit2allow -M mypol # semodule -i mypol.pp Additional Information: Source Context system_u:system_r:usbmuxd_t:s0 Target Context system_u:object_r:udev_var_run_t:s0 Target Objects /run/udev/data/+usb:2-1:1.0 [ file ] Source usbmuxd Source Path usbmuxd Port <Unknown> Host (removed) Source RPM Packages Target RPM Packages Policy RPM selinux-policy-3.13.1-128.21.fc22.noarch Selinux Enabled True Policy Type targeted Enforcing Mode Enforcing Host Name (removed) Platform Linux (removed) 4.4.5-200.fc22.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu Mar 10 17:54:17 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 Alert Count 5 First Seen 2016-03-25 13:04:11 EDT Last Seen 2016-03-25 13:04:11 EDT Local ID 6f76e08e-b723-4116-a9e6-f06d570fee72 Raw Audit Messages type=AVC msg=audit(1458925451.540:1010): avc: denied { getattr } for pid=9957 comm="usbmuxd" path="/run/udev/data/+usb:2-1:1.0" dev="tmpfs" ino=13233 scontext=system_u:system_r:usbmuxd_t:s0 tcontext=system_u:object_r:udev_var_run_t:s0 tclass=file permissive=0 Hash: usbmuxd,usbmuxd_t,udev_var_run_t,file,getattr Version-Release number of selected component: selinux-policy-3.13.1-128.21.fc22.noarch Additional info: reporter: libreport-2.6.4 hashmarkername: setroubleshoot kernel: 4.4.5-200.fc22.x86_64 type: libreport
