Similar problem has been detected:

I opened the attached PDF file with inkscape, marked "import via Poppler" in the PDF Import Settings dialog and clicked "OK". It doesn't crash when "import via Poppler" is unmarked, so it's probably a bug in poppler.

Actually, I won't attach the PDF here as it contains sensitive information. I can provide it upon request if necessary.

Comment 16 Fedora End Of Life 2016-11-25 07:13:32 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 23 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 23. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version'
of '23'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 23 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 17 Karel Volný 2016-12-13 12:10:50 UTC
the file from the bug description 'doprovodny-program-ta-av-sr-bio-2016.pdf' is still accessible from its original location (search the web ...)

I've just retested on Fedora 25 and the poppler import works

- what doesn't work is the 'native' import, it seems to enter infinite loop (I'm waiting for about 5 minutes now), but that is another issue

Dominik, please could you re-test with your file so this bug can be closed properly? - I don't like EOLed ones :-)

Comment 18 Dominik 'Rathann' Mierzejewski 2016-12-14 01:17:13 UTC
I can't find the file anymore. I don't even remember what it was (and why I wrote it was sensitive), so just close this.

FTR, it finished sucessfuly after about quarter an hour ... gosh, 3 GHz 8 threads Core i7, that much power needed to process one page???
