Can you explain what has to be done to 'built lgi against luajt'? Wouldn't it suffice to simply use luajit instead of lua at run time? Sadly the build system isn't great but this is an example of it: https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/PKGBUILD?h=luajit-lgi Just use the luajit cflags at build time and then install into the lua 5.1 directories.
