Description drohwer 2016-04-07 18:09:22 UTC
Description of problem:

We would like to have the ability to loan out systems for future dates so that resources could be scheduled in advance for an upcoming project. There would need to be hard and fast rules about the start and end dates.

There is also the scenario where someone is about to reserve the machine for a job and how should that be handled given the requested machine will be going into a date stamped loan in the very near future, does the request for the machine resource get denied because of the upcoming loan?

This request entails future loans based on date, but is somewhat along this lines of this proposal: https://beaker-project.org/dev/proposals/time-limited-system-loans.html

I'm moving this item back to Triaged, since we can't work on it before we haven't written up a design proposal, discussed it and hashed out a solution.
