FIRST TIME REPORTING A BUG

Description of problem: a couple of days ago I ran the normal dnf update process. After rebooting the wifi is completely gone. In the networkmanager no wireless connections are shown though my usb wifi stick is plugged in and is recognized by the system (lsusb outputs shows the usb stick Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8191SU 802.11n WLAN Adapter).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
NetworkManager-1.0.12-1.fc23
4.4.6-300.fc23.x86_64

How reproducible:
The same happened on my old Samsung laptop using a different wifi chipset (Atheros). I just updated the system and goodbye wifi as well. Rebooting the system with an older kernel did not help at all.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual results:

Expected results:

Additional info:
Bugrepot's output:
NetworkManager killed by SIGSEGV

I can also verify this bug and it was driving me grazy. After running dnf update and reboot wifi stopped to work. And I did not have there any other internet connection and no time to try fix this without connection, so to do dnf downgrade NetworkManager I need to drive back to home (30 km (20 miles)) to get computer to ethernet to do the downgrade and of course tomorrow back :(

dnf update updated NetworkManager 1:1.0.6-6.fc23 to 1:1.0.12-1.fc23

after running:
dnf downgrade NetworkManager
everything works fine again :)

My Wlan USB stick is same:
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0bda:8172 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8191SU 802.11n WLAN Adapter

Hello Tommi,

indeed downgrading to your mentioned version of the NetworkManger did solve the problem. First time experiencing something like that. Hopefully there will be a fix asap.
