This issue is only present in python3 in Fedora 22 and 23. Versions in Fedora 24 and upwards have already been fixed upstream.

I've been informed that fixing Fedora 22 is not necessary as it is EOL in less than a week. I have therefore pushed an update solely for Fedora 23 to fix this issue.
