There are graphical glitches when using F24 LXDE spin beta 1.4 using the graphics on a Nehalem generation 560M processor. The first sign is that the check box in the Anaconda installer goes black when checked. Other items such as buttons representing windows on the panel sometimes have parts go black or replaced with random colors.

The most major and reproducible is when you press ctrl+alt+f<number key> to change terminal devices. It takes longer than normal to bring up the login prompt every time. Often a strip about 100 hundred pixels in height pops up with random color lines in it. About 1/4 of the time the screen goes blank with and the system is unable to switch to any other terminal. This is sometimes accompanied by random color lines about affecting the left 3 or 4 pixel columns and or random color lines affecting the top 100 or so pixels. Repeated attempts to switch with ctrl+alt will always cause the lines to appear after the system freezes.

The problem seems to apply to any case where the graphics device is reinitialized. For example sometimes when logging out the system freezes after the screen goes back. Normally the screen goes black for a split second before LXDM takes over and displays the login screen. However the screen goes black and stays that way in this case. This makes me believe that initialization is particularly troublesome.

The problem can be "fixed" by installing kernel 4.4.8-300.fc23 and running that. If you configure systemd to boot in to multi-user.target then you can switch terminals without a problem. I use F23 as my only OS and have not run in to this problem at all on it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.boot in to lxde live using nehalem hd graphics as your gpu
2.use ctrl+alt+f<number> to switch between various terminals
3. the problem will usually occur when switching between f1 and various other terminals less than 10 times.
4. if it does seem to be working reboot and try again. Sometimes by luck getty gets started on all terminals by switching. switching to f2 and back to f1 fast enough prevents this and thus making the error easier to reproduce. However giving getty enough time does not prevent the bug every time.
Actual Results:
screen went black sometimes with random color lines. i think the colors are all pure red, green, or blue but i'm color blind. system becomes unresponsive.

Expected Results:
I expected the other terminals to show up with a log in prompt.

Comment 1 Fedora End Of Life 2016-11-25 07:31:42 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 23 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 23. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version'
of '23'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 23 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 2 Fedora End Of Life 2016-12-20 20:13:46 UTC
Fedora 23 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2016-12-20. Fedora 23 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
