Description Oliver Leitner 2016-05-20 00:37:13 UTC
it seems that the database on libvirt.org has some problems:

Could not connect to the database: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111)

i dont know whos administrating that website, i hope i reach the correct audience here...

I think we should just remove the search option entirely from the site, google is always going to do a better job

Comment 3 Oliver Leitner 2016-05-20 15:13:01 UTC
i wouldnt remove the search functionality from the site, which google is a good jump in, but a working search on a website is the best way to getting peoples to read your documentation.

Comment 4 Cole Robinson 2016-05-20 15:21:51 UTC
The search has always been sub-par and poorly maintained IMO, so it's better to drop it and not fight these issues anymore

Comment 5 Oliver Leitner 2016-05-22 00:46:17 UTC
this answer has me a bit worried, i hope you guys are aware that your documentation really is the one place to go if one wants to learn about using libvirt.

when I said 'google is always going to do a better job', I meant 'google is always going to do a better job of finding the relevant info on libvirt.org, than our own custom search'. I'm not suggesting people look to other sites for libvirt documentation, instead using google search to find what they are looking for on libvirt.org
