Description Barry K. Nathan 2004-09-29 11:36:33 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7)
Gecko/20040904 Firefox/0.9.3

Description of problem:
Attempting to autorun the RHEL4 beta 1 Documentation CD silently fails
(at least, from the GNOME desktop it seems silent to me).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
redhat-release-3.94WS-1
system-config-packages-1.2.16-2

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Log in to GNOME.
2. Insert Documentation CD.
3. GNOME will ask you, "Do you want to run
/media/cdrw_dvdrom/autorun?" (or something like that). Click "Yes".

Actual Results: After clicking "Yes", nothing happens.

Expected Results: User should be prompted for root password, and
interactive package installation GUI stuff should begin.

Additional info:

The autorun script appears to try to run redhat-cdinstall-helper.
AFAICT this no longer exists and has been replaced by
system-cdinstall-helper.

If you need any more info from me, just ask.

Thank you very much for the report. You are correct in your
assessment. The name of the application called in the autorun script
should be /usr/bin/system-cdinstall-helper. The fix will do the
appropriate action of allowing users to install the documentation
packages via the graphical Package Management Tool upon CD insertion.

Thanks again for your report.
