Thanks for your bug report!

Did you restart your computer after the upgrade? Do you see same error, when you run "gvfs-ls recent:///"?

It looks like that the recent backend crashed. In that case you should see a crash report in abrt, can you provide the report?

What versions of gvfs, glib and nautilus do you have?

Comment 2 Rob Hicks 2016-06-28 07:48:15 UTC
Going to further test today, but restarting fixed the problem.

There was nothing reportable in abrt.

After a couple of restarts and suspends things are working.

I am not sure what upgrade method did you use, however it should work correctly after first boot. So it seems that something is wrong if you needed a more than one restart. Please answer the rest of the questions, which I requested before, if it will happen again...

Comment 4 Rob Hicks 2016-06-28 09:56:35 UTC
Everything seems to be working ok now. No problems with recent items in Nautilus since I restarted, but I will watch for problems.

Some of the details you wanted:

Used this method for upgrade:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/DNF_system_upgrade

glib.x86_64 1:1.2.10-47.fc24
gvfs.x86_64 1.28.2-1.fc24
nautilus.x86_64 3.20.1-1.fc24

Also, as far as the restarts go,

1) after the restart after upgrading, that is when I had problems with nautilus not showing recent items and error message above
2) I then restarted following your comment and recent items worked (no error messages)
3) I then restarted/suspended a few more times just for checking and things *continued* to work.

So I don't need to restart multiple times for getting recent items to work. Sorry about the lack of clarity.

Thanks for the additional info. Hmm, it should definitely work immediately after the first restart after upgrading. However we can't do much without backtrace, or reproducer. Let's close the bug for now, but please reopen it if you see it again...
