A type confusion issue was found in the SPLFileObject fread() function. A remote attacker able to submit a specially crafted input to a PHP application, which uses this function, could use this flaw to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the user running that PHP application.

If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report. php-5.6.23-1.fc23 has been pushed to the Fedora 23 stable repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report. Analysis: int/size_t size confusion causes integer overflow, possibly leading to heap-buffer overflow. Can be triggered by writing specially-crafted value in the fread() function, which is normally script author controlled. Notice: method SplFileObject::fread have been introduce in PHP 5.5. So version <= 5.4 are not affected.
