udevadm monitor -p > Tab2.PTP.txt 2>&1

Dear Red Hat,

I am coming from the community: Scientific Linux 7.2

      cat /etc/redhat-release
      Scientific Linux release 7.2 (Nitrogen)

      $ uname -r
      3.10.0-327.22.2.el7.x86_64

      Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70

SL 7.2 does not recognize my tablet in MTP or PTP mode. It does recognize it in CDROM mode

Many thanks,
-T

Does it work on Fedora? Does content of udev database for tablet looks any different there?

Comment 4 Michal Sekletar 2016-07-20 14:06:54 UTC
I was informed by Lubomir Rintel that bug is most likely within libmtp package.

Not on my FC24 KVM virtual machine.

Comment 6 Bastien Nocera 2017-03-02 17:29:06 UTC
You should test the tablet with the latest version of libmtp, and report upstream if it's still a problem. I can't add support for a tablet that I don't have access to, if upstream hasn't already added supported for it.

Comment 7 Todd 2017-04-29 03:42:47 UTC
7.3 still does not work. Where is "upsteam" to report this to?

Comment 8 Bastien Nocera 2017-05-02 11:28:13 UTC
The upstream is at:
http://libmtp.sourceforge.net/

See the "New Device?" section, which seems to correspond exactly to your problem. Good luck!

Comment 10 Marcus Meissner 2017-05-03 07:02:59 UTC
The id for this tablet is in libmtp 1.1.11 and newer releases.

Great, thanks.

Comment 12 Todd 2017-05-03 17:28:59 UTC
Cool!

When do you think we will see it?

Comment 13 Todd 2017-07-08 00:26:08 UTC
Any chance of getting this into the Fast Bugs repo for 7.3?

Comment 14 Bastien Nocera 2017-07-10 10:39:22 UTC
It's currently planned for 7.5.

Oh No! That is years away! Is there a work around till then?

Comment 16 Bastien Nocera 2017-07-12 11:42:01 UTC
The best way would be to contact your support representative, who'll then guide you through the possible options.

Did you miss the part about me coming from the community?

Comment 18 Bastien Nocera 2017-07-13 14:38:16 UTC
Sorry, you'll need to ask Scientific Linux, I can't help you here.

Comment 19 Bastien Nocera 2017-10-06 15:56:38 UTC
Fixed in libmtp-1.1.13-1.el7

Comment 20 Bastien Nocera 2017-10-06 16:00:00 UTC
Todd, can you please test the new packages at:
http://people.redhat.com/bnocera/libmtp-rhel-7.5/
?

I'm not certain whether they will work on a 7.4 machine, but they should, unless something really wrong happened.

Comment 21 Todd 2017-10-06 19:43:43 UTC
Hi Bastein,

Oh yes. It is working pretty. I did an "rpm -Uvh" and my system took me to

    mtp://[usb:002,010]

with Thunar 1.6.11. Krusader 2.5.0 belly ached.

Thank you!

Now I get to write a backup routine for it! Documents only.

Do you guys happen to have the SRPM for the above?

It's the same as the Fedora package, except the version numbers.

Something is wrong then. Yours works with my Android and the Fedora does not:
