I've been working on Mailman3 for a while now, and I have packaged it (and all its dependencies), and I intend on getting it into Fedora. The thing is, there's a loooot of new dependencies that need to be in there too. I haven't tried to push them at the moment because the dependencies have been changing a lot until recently (they still are a bit, but it's low enough now). I intend to work with Jan on that (we haven't talked about this in a while ;-) ) FYI I have a Mailman3 / Postorius / HyperKitty repo here: https://repos.fedorapeople.org/abompard/hyperkitty/ It's for EPEL7, but it should rebuild properly on Fedora (it's even easier because more deps are included). I've started checking which deps are into Fedora and on which version, so I can request reviews or updates on them. That's where I am today. Hi, has there been progress on packages being accepted into the main repos? Yes, there's progress, but there are still some dependencies being packaged and reviewed. If you want to help, please check out https://lstu.fr/abompard-package-review. Thanks! This message is a reminder that Fedora 25 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 25. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '25'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 25 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. Fedora 25 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2017-12-12. Fedora 25 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed. Is the idea here to go to mailman 3.x version and bypass the newer 2.x versions that aren't yet packaged for Fedora? According to the provided link, there don't appear to be any outstanding dep package reviews, so is the mailman3 update happening soon? This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 28 development cycle. Changing version to '28'. (In reply to Aurelien Bompard from comment #3) > Yes, there's progress, but there are still some dependencies being packaged > and reviewed. If you want to help, please check out > https://lstu.fr/abompard-package-review. Thanks! Hi Aurelien, Are you planning to go through formal review of the rest of packages? As I can see Core has all deps packaged in Fedora. As Python3 is deprecated we can use generic name (mailman) and not introduce new package. Are you ok with that? This message is a reminder that Fedora 28 is nearing its end of life. On 2019-May-28 Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 28. If you like it to be unretired, please open a ticket at https://pagure.io/releng/new_issue?template=package_unretirement mailman3 is already packaged in: https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/mailman3 |
