Created attachment 1189793 [details]
corefile from crash

Description of problem:

A client is seeing instability in emacs where it sporadically crashes for users and has captured a core from a crash to be evaluated. Jan had a look in bz 1308518 since it looked likely to be under that umbrella, but he indicated that this was something else.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
emacs-24.3-18.el7.x86_64

How reproducible:
The client sporadically sees crashes at startup. As a note, the client is running gnome3 over vnc as their setup.

Additional info:
Core attached.

I've set up a VM with Gnome+VNC, but I can't reproduce this. The core is not that helpful on the current RHEL-7.3 as to closer reveal what might be wrong.

If you still encounter this, please provide more information + ideally try to reproduce this using 'emacs -Q'.
