Description Derrick Moser 2004-10-21 16:45:07 UTC
Description of problem:
When installing a new system, the user is asked to choose a region for
their timezone. The labels are incorrect for many regions in the
Americas. For example, the entry for Toronto should read either
"Americas/Toronto", "NorthAmerica/Toronto", or even "Canada/Toronto"
but definitely not "America/Toronto" (the current behaviour).

Comment 1 Jakub Jelinek 2004-10-21 17:25:50 UTC
This can't change just for aesthetic reasons, that would break many
programs that use these files. All that could be done is IMHO
duplicate them, but I don't see justification for that bloat.

Anyway, Fedora tzdata doesn't intend to diverge from upstream,
so if you want any change, request it upstream:
tz.nih.gov
).
