Description of problem:
/sbin/dump core dumps (at least when creating a level 0 dump)

Additional info:
The expected output has been created on a second fc24 system where I manually downgraded "dump" to version 0.4-0.27.b44.fc24.

This issue has been resolved in #1365124. 

New version of dump (dump-0.4-0.29.b45.fc24) is now available in updates-testing repository.

You can try 
  sudo dnf --enablerepo=updates-testing update dump

to get the newest version of dump.
