Description Paul Armstrong 2016-08-18 17:16:33 UTC
Description of problem:
The foreman provisioning view for a host allows the satellite user to open a console to the deployed system. Currently the only supported console communication is via VNC. RHEV deployment defaults the VM console to SPICE. By default you can't connect to a RHEV VM console using Satellite. Satellite provisioning offers no way to configure the VMs console to VNC to allow console access. After VM creation. this needs can only be changed when the RHEV host is powered off.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
6.2.1

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Configure Satellite to provision to RHEV (compute resource, etc..)
2. Deploy a VM to RHEV
3. Try to use Satellite remote console.

Actual results:
White box where Console Screen should be = not connected.

Expected results:
See the console. :-)

Additional info:
It may be required to deploy systems with SPICE. So this should be a choice at the Satellite side.
Note: setting the RHEV VM console to SPICE+VNC also does not work (for whatever reason). Setting the RHEV VM console after the fact to VNC works.

Thank you for your interest in Satellite 6. We have evaluated this request, and we do not expect this to be implemented in product in the forseeable future. We are therefore closing this out as WONTFIX. If you have any concerns about this, please feel free to contact Rich Jerrido or Bryan Kearney. Thank you.
