Description Rachana Patel 2016-08-19 03:24:12 UTC
Description of problem:
======================

RHEL and Ubuntu upgrade Doc

Both - MON and OSD section have steps which asked to change owner for '/var/*/ceph' Directory and also for '/etc/ceph/' Directory

but for client Upgrade:-

5.3. UPGRADING A CEPH RADOS GATEWAY NODE

There is no instruction to change owner for '/etc/ceph'. I/Os from rbd and rgw client were not failing after upgrade though

5.4. UPGRADING A CEPH CLIENT NODE
section do not ask to change owner for any ceph directory.i.e. '/var/*/ceph'.

I'm not familiar with whether that directory needs to change ownership or not. If it's working as-is in your tests, then there is no need for a change.
