Description of problem:
Running lshw-gui from the menu I get the following from journalctl -f

lshw.desktop[2223]: Refusing to render service to dead parents.

and I do not get the authentication dialog.

After little duckduckgoing I found this:

After comparing /usr/share/polkit-1/actions/org.ezix.lshw.gui.policy and /usr/bin/lshw-gui, I made a guess (I do not understand this stuff) that the contents of /usr/bin/lshw-gui should be:

#! /bin/bash

/usr/bin/pkexec /usr/sbin/gtk-lshw

rather than:

#! /bin/bash

exec /usr/bin/pkexec /usr/sbin/gtk-lshw

and it now seems to work.
