netscape freezes if the page contains java code.
if I disable java all goes well.
I have no ~/.mailcap at all.

You might want to make sure you have the right fonts installed. See
bug #2711. If this persists with a particular applet, I suggest you
contact Netscape's bug report address; as we don't have the source to
netscape, we can't fix it.
