Description Susi Lehtola 2016-08-25 02:10:17 UTC
While trying to run MADNESS (https://github.com/m-a-d-n-e-s-s/madness/) I get the error message

$ mpirun -np 2 ../../../../objdir/src/apps/moldft/moldft h2o_9_lda.in
!! Error: MPI_Init_thread did not provide requested functionality: THREAD_MULTIPLE (THREAD_SERIALIZED).
!! Error: The MPI standard makes no guarantee about the correctness of a program in such circumstances.
!! Error: Please reconfigure your MPI to provide the proper thread support.

so it'd be nice if OpenMPI were compiled with --enable-mpi-thread-multiple.

Comment 1 Susi Lehtola 2016-08-25 02:12:38 UTC
According to https://github.com/open-mpi/ompi/issues/157 the multiple thread support works in 1.10.3, so this should be enabled on f24 onwards.
