Description Bill Sanford 2016-08-29 18:26:28 UTC
Description of problem:

If I use a browser to launch http://download-node-02.eng.bos.redhat.com/rel-eng/RHSCL-2.3-RHEL-7-Alpha-1.0/compose/Workstation/source/tree/Packages/rh-eclipse46-1-10.el7.src.rpm, the Software Install will want to install Eclipse when it is already installed.

If I use Administration -> Application Installer and search for Eclipse in the main window search bar, I see RH Eclipse. If I use the "Installed" button and show the Installed programs, Eclipse is not found.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
RHEL-7.3-20160825.1
RHSCL-2.3-RHEL-7-Alpha-1.0

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. See above.
2.
3.

Actual results:
Application Install does not recognize rh-eclipse except for searching

Expected results:
Application Install does recognize rh-eclipse for everything

You are trying to install src rpm is that expected?

Comment 3 Ray Strode [halfline] 2016-08-29 20:33:50 UTC
maybe this is NOTABUG, or maybe gnome-software shouldn't let the user install src rpms.

regardless, it's definitely not gnome-applets (which isn't in rhel 7). reassigning.
