Description Mathias 2016-09-03 21:51:00 UTC
Description of problem:
WPA_Supplicant is compiled without support for 802.11r fast roaming

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.5

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get an AP with 802.11r enabled (OpenWRT/Lede, set "option ieee80211r '1'" in /etc/config/wireless or set "wpa_key_mgmt=WPA-PSK FT-PSK" in hostapd.conf
2. wpa_cli scan; wpa_cli scan_results
3. no FT (fast transition) mentioned

Actual results:
e4:95:6e:00:00:01	2437	-90	[WPA2--CCMP-preauth][ESS]	LEDE

Expected results:
e4:95:6e:00:00:01	2437	-98	[WPA2-PSK+FT/PSK-CCMP-preauth][ESS]	LEDE

Additional info:
While its more important for a phone to roam between APs, its a pity that I can't test it on my laptop and debug my setup.
AFAIK adding
CONFIG_IEEE80211R=y
to the build .config fixes the problem. For comparison, Ubuntu uses CONFIG_IEEE80211R=y

As far as I can tell, there seem a few more interesting options in the supplicant .config, like CONFIG_IEEE80211AC=y
