Description Chen 2016-09-06 18:13:35 UTC
Description of problem:

Chrome 45+ is not working with VMRC. "Remote Console plugin is not properly installed." is output when opening the VMRC console through CFME

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Chrome 52.0.2743.116 m (64-bit)

How reproducible:

100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use Chrome 52 to open VM console using VMRC plugin through CFME
2.
3.

Actual results:

The console couldn't be opened

Expected results:

The console should be opened.

Additional info:

The customer *could* open the console through VMware Web Client using VMRC plugin.

As the following says, the customer should be using standalone VMRC. Do we support this in CFME ?

Hi,

The customer, Hitachi is going to provide their services to their customers shortly. It would be better if we could provide them whether Chrome 45+ is supported or not as a browser to use VMRC (VMRC standalone) plugin.

Best Regards,
Chen

Hi,

Hitachi has to provide the answer to their customers on 21st Sep. Is it possible to let us know the answer as soon as possible ?

Best Regards,
Chen

Hi David,

Thank you for your reply.

So it appears to me that we will never support Chrome 45+ to use VMRC nor standalone VMRC plugin, am I right ?

Best Regards,
Chen

Hi Chen,

yes, until they don't migrate from NPAPI to something else.
Or if Chrome decides to support NPAPI again...
