Description Julie 2016-09-07 03:31:53 UTC
In 3.6 SHE guide, there was a note on:
---
Reboot the machine if any kernel related packages have been updated.
---
https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Virtualization/3.6/html-single/Self-Hosted_Engine_Guide/index.html#Configuring_the_Self-Hosted_Engine

The 4.0 SHE guide links to the Install guide for subscriptions info and the note is not present anymore.

We should add the reboot note to all 'yum update' steps in the guides and make it part of the standard procedure.

From my experience, the reboot step eliminates a lot of problems (especially for SHE setup). I also received feedback from QE for quckstart cloud installer about needing to add the reboot step after a yum update.

Since I raised this, I am happy to work on the bug myself.

Cheers,
Julie

Added 'Reboot the machine if any kernel related packages have been updated. ' to the appropriate yum update steps in the Installation Guide and the SHE Guide.
