Description of problem:

-In OSP8, Glance does support adding cinder locations in OSP8 but you can't do any other operation, such as upload/download images.  So while you have a location defined you cannot really do anything with it.

-In OSP9, the support for get, add, and delete operations was added in Mitaka. The experimental warning you're seeing is not coming from Red Hat but the upstream project because it is still considered experimental upstream.

-In OSP9 however this feature has not been through our QA group and hence it is really slated for OSP10..

So when a customer looks at our documentation for OSP8 they believe that Cinder backend support is available and usable however there is not enough information to make it work nor does it seem its feature ready anyways.

The unsupported procedures and information must be removed.
