Description Fred van Zwieten 2016-09-08 06:49:48 UTC
Description of problem:
Suppose I have a category "Departments" with, as tags, the departments of a company. Now I would like to create a report which is:
1) sorted by the categories tags (departments)
2) grouped by the categories tags (departments)
3) be able to have totals on numerical fields or counts by these groups.
4) filtered by an expression containing multiple tags (ie filter by region Europe and only VMware)

For example: list VM's by department, with a total count.

No, not the same. 1228629 refers to being able to *filter* on a tag. This RFE is on being able to grouo by tag and show show totals per tag. ie:

+-----------------------+----------+-----------+-----+-------+
| Owner | Services | Instances | VMs | Hosts |
+-----------------------+----------+-----------+-----+-------+
| J. Dundey | 23 | 34 | 38 | 3 |
| M. Phelps | 22 | 39 | 28 | 5 |
+-----------------------+----------+-----------+-----+-------+
|Total for Department A:| 45 | 73 | 66 | 8 |
+-----------------------+----------+-----------+-----+-------+
| R. Miletzy | 13 | 24 | 28 | 1 |
| F. Fitzgerald | 12 | 29 | 18 | 2 |
+-----------------------+----------+-----------+-----+-------+
|Total for Department A:| 25 | 53 | 46 | 3 |
+-----------------------+----------+-----------+-----+-------+
|Totals | 70 | 126 | 112 | 11 |
+-----------------------+----------+-----------+-----+-------+

No, AFAICT that is only for chargeback. This is for reports in general.

This is a better example, but then on reports in general, not just chargeback:
