Comment 2 Matus Honek 2016-12-05 16:25:20 UTC
Thank you for reporting this. However, openldap package ships with a correct /etc/openldap/ldap.conf containing "TLS_CACERTDIR /etc/openldap/certs". Clean RHEL installation exhibits this setting. Also, if one removes the /etc/openldap/ldap.conf and reinstalls the openldap package the correct /etc/openldap/ldap.conf will land in there, again. This should be true since RHEL-7.0 release. I've tested this with RHEL-7.2 Minimal.

If you see a different setting in the file then it might have been modified by some other package. If this is the case, please, contact our Customer Support. They should be more knowledgeable of what else could have caused the issue and would be of better help. Thank you.

confirmed, /etc/openldap/ldap.conf has proper contents on a clean system, I'm sorry for the false alarm
