Description Waldirio M Pinheiro 2016-09-16 05:38:37 UTC
Document URL:
https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en/red-hat-satellite/6.2/paged/server-administration-guide/chapter-9-configuring-external-authentication

Section Number and Name:

Describe the issue:
Customer would like to see in the document one table with information about authentication methods versus pros and cons, for example, GSSPROXY and LDAP Auth, GSSPROXY the configuration is completely manual and LDAP Auth is completely via webUI. In fact, he would like to know what will works with one that will not work with another.

We got one issue about api consume using external user, so when configured via gssproxy, didn't work although when using ldap authentication, worked fine.

Suggestions for improvement:
Create the table adding pros and cons.

Here are the latest version of the docs

https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_satellite/6.6/html/administering_red_hat_satellite/chap-red_hat_satellite-administering_red_hat_satellite-configuring_external_authentication

In formal documentation, we focus on user scenarios. For a "pros and cons list", it might be best to create a KCS article to cater to the customer's needs.
