Description of problem:

Attempting to play video files of several sorts with totems plays the audio correctly but just shows a blank black window instead of any video.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Play a video file with totem (I tried an mp4, a Flash video and some others)

Actual results:

Audio plays, but where the video would be expected the window is blank and black.

Expected results:

Video is visible.

Additional info:

I'm running a MATE desktop, with xmonad window manager.

gst123 shows the same behaviour (audio plays, but no video - a video window isn't even opened).  So moving to gstreamer as a best guess where the bug lies.

This message is a reminder that Fedora 24 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 2 (two) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 24. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time

plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'

Fedora 24 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2017-08-08. Fedora 24 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
