Description Vikram Goyal 2016-09-17 10:53:53 UTC
Need to define how docker is different on a RHEL workstation than a RHEL server. This includes any different repositories you need to start and different package names. Need to determine if our rhel images are based on server or workstation.

Hi Dan, is there any practical difference between docker on Workstation and docker on Server? I have confirmed with Lokesh that the RPMs are the same for both variants. The only thing I can think of is having to enable some special repositories.

Comment 3 Daniel Walsh 2016-09-26 14:35:26 UTC
No they are the same RPMs, but getting access to the RPMS via subscription-manager could be a problem.

Comment 4 Yoana Ruseva 2016-09-26 16:22:26 UTC
On a RHEL Workstation that I registered to the Extras and the Optional channels, I didn't find docker available:

# subscription-manager repos --enable rhel-7-workstation-extras-rpms
# yum install docker
....
No package docker available.

and then:

# subscription-manager repos --enable rhel-7-workstation-optional-rpms
# yum install docker
....
No package docker available.

How can I obtain the RPMs?

Comment 5 Lokesh Mandvekar 2016-09-26 16:33:52 UTC
Hi Ryan, is it possible we could tag docker rpms into workstation repos, or any other way to get this going perhaps?

Comment 6 Yoana Ruseva 2016-09-26 16:37:58 UTC
Ben, how would a customer obtain the RPMs?

Comment 7 Vikram Goyal 2016-10-24 12:41:20 UTC
Moved to 7.3.2
