Description Pat Riehecky 2016-09-20 15:13:33 UTC
Description of problem:
Can ecryptfs-utils be branched for EPEL7? Many users of ecryptfs-utils are not yet ready to migrate to other technology. This may help ease the transition from RHEL6 to RHEL7 for some workloads. It would certainly reduce the complexity of migrating the storage for some people.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):Whatever the current fedora version is would be fine

Where would the ecryptfs.ko kernel module come from? The utilities by themselves do no good, because RHEL7 doesn't ship the module, and modules aren't allowed in EPEL.

I don't think having ecryptfs-utils in EPEL will help you, unfortunately.

Far enough, I thought it was fuse based....
