Description Adam Hunt 2016-09-20 23:22:30 UTC
The Gtk frontend for tuned, tuned-gui, fails to start when launched from GNOME. When checking the journal only a single error is logged:

"Sep 20 16:13:12 drogon tuned-gui.desktop[9004]: Refusing to render service to dead parents."

This occurs regardless of whether or not SELinux is in Enforcing or Permissive mode.

If tuned-gui is launched from a terminal session the typical authentication interface is displayed and once the user enters the proper password tuned-gui starts as expected.

Thanks for the report. It seems it's check/feature of the pkexec not to fall under init process. Mostly it is not problem as desktop environments (DEs) usually spawns it from some parent process (e.g. XFCE). Unfortunately this is not true in Gnome, so we cannot do just 'exec pkexec' there, but we need to run it through the shell. I will provide patch soon.

Currently Bodhi seems to be quite slow to track the updates, thus closing as rawhide. You can still track the F24 update in Bodhi manually.
