Description Răzvan Sandu 2016-09-30 09:34:33 UTC
Document URL:

https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/7-Beta/html/System_Administrators_Guide/part-Infrastructure_Services.html

Section Number and Name:

Part IV. Infrastructure Services

Describe the issue:

With the introduction of systemd and the /etc/rc.d/rc.local being obsoleted, there is no obvious way to run a one-time Bash script (not a permanently running service!) at the VERY END of the boot process (after all other scripts and daemons were started).

This would be useful for various customizations.

Suggestions for improvement:

Please document the correct (recommended) way to achieve this on RHEL systemd machines (roughly speaking, the equivalent of DOS's AUTOEXEC.BAT :) )

Thank you.

Răzvan reviewed the new section (thanks!) and is satisfied with it. Since I already have an ACK from Michal, I've merged this into master.

Setting this to VERIFIED. I plan to republish the System Administrator's Guide with the new section at the end of the next week.
