Description James Biao 2016-10-05 04:19:21 UTC
Description of problem:

Got a request from Cisco Cloud Services to backport the following to OSP 5

Currently, nova is not supporting the multi-queue configuration on the kvm/qemu tap interface, which is limiting the overall PPS (packets per second) network througput on the nova-compute node. See refererence,

      https://review.openstack.org/#/c/128829/

We would like to get this back-ported to OSP 5.0 for supporting our network centric work-load.

Currently, our network centric workload is limited to no more than aggregate of 300k PPS for all VMs on the nova-compute node.

Red Hat OpenStack Platform version 5 is now End-of-Life, and as such will not have further updates. See https://access.redhat.com/support/policy/updates/openstack/platform/ for full support lifecycle details.
