Created attachment 1208294 [details]
Screenshot of panel missing wired-network icon with wired-network sub-menu

Description of problem:
In current Fedora 25, the network icon usually displaying the network status of the system's wired connection is missing most of the time, even though the wired connection is active and works correctly. When opening the panel's main menu labelled by an arrow head pointing downward, the network status is reported to be "Wired Connected" but when unfolding the corresponding sub-menu, the only action is "Connect" whereas it should be "Turn Off".

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gnome-shell-3.22.0-1.fc25

How reproducible:
Most of the time.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch GNOME session with active and working wired network device.

Actual results:
Wired-network icon is missing from the panel.

Expected results:
Wired-network icon is shown in the panel.

Additional info:
This issue may be related to bug 1377111 which reports that action "Connect" has no effect when chosen in the panel's sub-menu "Wired Off" of the system's wired connection.

Comment 1 Joachim Frieben 2016-10-08 09:04:55 UTC
After clicking menu item "Wired Connected > Connect", the wired-network icon appears in the panel, and the wired-network menu changes from "Wired Connected > Connect" to "Wired Connected > Turn Off" which is correct.

Comment 2 Joachim Frieben 2016-10-18 10:44:07 UTC
Issue was actually caused by component control-center and is fixed by upgrading from control-center-3.22.0-1.fc25 to control-center-3.22.1-1.fc25.
