Description Andrew Dahms 2016-10-10 07:05:46 UTC
Some basic instructions on how and why to configure lazy sync must be added to the Content Management Guide, including the three policy options and basic considerations for use (for example, it can only be used on 'yum' repositories).

Assigning to Stephen for review.

Stephen - the following looks like a logical place to add this description, either as a new section or as a consideration in the existing one, but what do you think?

I see it there.

Perhaps we can use this bug to remove the "Important" admonition if Lazy Sync is confirmed as as no longer Technology Preview?

Thank you

Hello

and we need to add to this text:
The latter two policies act as a Lazy Synchronization feature because they save time synchronizing content.

the line: "The lazy sync feature must only be used for yum repositories."

Hi Stephen,

Thank you for the needinfo request.

Sounds good to me, and perhaps we can confirm with Steve during the docs meeting today.

Apologies for not seeing the existing section along the way. I did a quick search of the guide, but didn't see this one here.

Kind regards,

Andrew

Hello

ACK, Steve Bream to confirm if Lazy Sync is out of Tech Preview state for 6.3

Comment 10 Steve Bream 2016-10-11 15:38:21 UTC
Confirming that Lazy Sync is out of tech preview and will be a supported feature as of 6.2.3.

Comment 11 Stephen Wadeley 2016-10-11 15:51:21 UTC
thank you, will remove admonition (mentioned in #3) next week in appropriate branch for 6.3

Comment 12 Andrew Dahms 2016-10-11 23:39:31 UTC
Hi Stephen,

Just to clarify - I believe the admonition can be removed for our 6.2 work, as based on Steve's comment in comment #10, this will be in place for the 6.2.3 z-stream.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Kind regards,

Andrew

Doh! Yes, I see now, I read and answered too quickly.

We need to update release notes too.

Thank you
