Description Alexey Masolov 2016-10-11 04:39:32 UTC
Document URL:
https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en/red-hat-satellite/6.2/paged/virtual-instances-guide/chapter-5-configuration-and-services

Section Number and Name:
5.3. CONFIGURING VIRT-WHO TO CONNECT TO RED HAT ENTERPRISE VIRTUALIZATION HYPERVISOR (step 5)
5.4. CONFIGURING VIRT-WHO TO CONNECT TO A RED HAT ENTERPRISE LINUX HYPERVISOR (step 3)
5.5. CONFIGURING VIRT-WHO TO CONNECT TO VMWARE VCENTER (step 4)
5.6. CONFIGURING VIRT-WHO TO CONNECT TO MICROSOFT HYPER-V (step 9)

Describe the issue:
===
Edit the configuration file /etc/rhsm/rhsm.conf, changing the example values with those specific to your environment.

rhsm_hostname=satellite.example.com
rhsm_username=virt_who-admin
rhsm_encrypted_password=bd257f93d@482B76e6390cc54aec1a4d
rhsm_prefix=/rhsm
===
Configuration should be made in /etc/virt-who.d/ hypervisor configuration file instead of /etc/rhsm/rhsm.conf

Suggestions for improvement: Change the configuration file name

Alexey,

Thanks for reporting this issue. The same issue was reported in another BZ ticket by Kathryn Dixon. I fixed it while working on that BZ ticket, and the corrected instructions are now available in the published Virtual Instances Guide. For example: the RHEV instructions are available at [1]. The same correction has been made for all hypervisors.
