Comment 14 Rex Dieter 2016-11-10 13:16:08 UTC
How did you run apper? I cannot reproduce this running it by hand.

Comment 15 Kevin Kofler 2016-11-12 08:32:33 UTC
The backtrace shows that this comes from the PackageKit session service:
#3 0x000055c2f3bb1b8e in main (argc=<optimized out>, argv=<optimized out>) at /usr/src/debug/apper-0.9.3/PkSession/main.cpp:49

with a link to this bug.

It looks like the K4AboutData is not getting set, probably a regression from the KF5 port. (It worked in the kdelibs4 version.)

Comment 16 RJ 2016-11-21 17:41:56 UTC
Just run it from KMenu or from tray. I didn't mention.

Comment 17 Rex Dieter 2016-11-21 17:43:49 UTC
OK, then I cannot reproduce the crash (not on f24 at least, with the same apper version... so it may be f25 or qt-5.7.x specific)

Comment 18 Mustafa Muhammad 2016-11-22 06:25:02 UTC

Maybe, I think you can just boot F25 and try to install google-chrome rpm from their website to reproduce.

Comment 19 Alvin 2016-11-22 14:51:05 UTC
I can reproduce this crash on F25 by launching virt-manager without having the libvirtd.service active.

Comment 20 Alvin 2016-11-24 12:41:22 UTC
also by clicking an rpm I downloaded using Firefox. (From withing the Firefox download manager.)

Similar problem has been detected:

I am unsure how the problem happened nor how it can be reproduced. I use Fedorea 25 on both i686+PAE architecture and x86_64 architecture with KDE and without extra repositories, and with the latest updates. I have seen this happen on both architectures. I am unsure if this is a KDE-related bug or something else, but am reporting it through ABRT in case it is helpful to developers.
