I can confirm exactly the same error. It occurs when booted with external HDMI-adapter connected. If the adapter is not connected on boot time no problems occur (later connection of the HDMI adapter works then as well without problems). This error leads to slow booting time, because the graphics take long time to load until X is fully up. With 4.7.6 it was working, but with 4.8.2 this error occurs. Description of problem: boot without "nomodeset" in kernel option. I suppose this is the same issue that no X screen is available after updateing the kernel to 4.6.x on Fedora 24.
