Ranjan,

If I understand correctly, the customer is asking for a list of "rake" tasks which may be appropriate for customers to run, including details of when these might be run. I see that the customer's original request was for such an option in the Satellite web UI, but as running "rake" tasks is a rather low-level method of system administration, is not appropriate for the GUI.

I need to research this request a little more, given the nature of the "rake" tasks.

In one comment, the customer said:

"Before I open a call to support I do my best to check the basics which involve basic maintenance commands but I am not sure which are or are not still relevant in 6.2.4."

My aim is to identify appropriate "rake" tasks and document these in an appropriate manner.

Hi Ranjan,

Thank you for raising this bug, and for discussing this request with the customer.

After reviewing this bug and the comments in the case, we understand the customer is looking for information on tuning their environment and performing common maintenance tasks.

BZ#1248336 requests content on a similar theme, and we understand this is a common and important request from customers as well.

I will close this bug as a duplicate so that we can track the creation of this content over there, but feel free to add your case to that bug and list any requirements there, and we will use that as input in planning.

Let me know at any stage if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind regards,

Andrew
