Description Rick Dixon 2016-10-17 15:00:17 UTC
Business Justification:

From a larger scale management perspective, having system ABRT errors centrally reported would be helpful. As a sysadmin I'll be better able to track them across my infrastructure while also vetting any that are worth reporting upstream. Additionally, I'll be able to track any unreported system errors as (in theory) abrt will catch them and send them up to Sat so that I can be proactive in their resolution.

Technical Requirements:

Consider packaging http://projects.theforeman.org/projects/abrt

Can this be considered for Sat6.3 features?

The ability to send along kdump items would also be handy.

Comment 10 Pat Riehecky 2017-06-08 15:50:27 UTC
Specifically, the crash reports I'm looking to catch are generally from our in house apps. There would be no point in sending these off via Insights.

Thank you for your interest in Satellite 6. We have evaluated this request, and we do not expect this to be implemented in product in the forseeable future. We are therefore closing this out as WONTFIX. If you have any concerns about this, please feel free to contact Rich Jerrido or Bryan Kearney. Thank you.
