Description Tony James 2016-10-21 19:28:54 UTC
Modern desktop environments and applications are beginning to require 3d rendering capabilities for optimal performance. Because SPICE does not support 3d acceleration performance is suffering greatly when accessing virtual machines with GNOME 3, Windows 8+ and modern desktop application like Microsoft Office 2013.

This will be solved by either using 3rd party remote visualization tools or by vGPU support and maybe the "successor" of VirGL and spice-streaming in the future as well.

There is partly support for vGPU solutions already (NVIDIA Tesla Grid) and these features also have some BZs already.

So closing this one.
